Miss Stephanie Becks
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Stephanie has been an educator in Charleston County School District for the past 7 years. Stephanie began her career at St. James-Santee Elementary where she taught second grade. In 2015, she transferred to Angel Oak Elementary where she taught first and fifth grade as well as served as grade level chair, secretary for the School Improvement Council and the Academic Coordinator for the after school program. In 2017, she was recognized as Angel Oak Elementary’s Teacher of the Year. For the past year, Stephanie has served as the school’s Lead Teacher where she has helped to support all students, staff and families in a variety of ways including formal teacher observations and evaluations, LEA for special education meetings, evaluation for classified employees, school state testing coordinator, coordinator for the OwlVenture summer enrichment program, academic and behavioral data analysis, and Title 1 crate supervisor.
Stephanie received a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University, her Gifted and Talented certification from College of Charleston, a Master of Education in Literacy Education from The Citadel, and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. She is also currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program at the University of South Carolina.
