  • Greetings!

My name is Steve Larson and I have the honor of being the Principal of St. John's High School. Together with our staff, we will work every day to ensure this is a school that rivals the very best across the state of South Carolina.

As your principal, I hope to become a trusted member of your family. Your students are our top priority, every day, and we will work to ensure we are doing everything we can to ensure post-high school success.

I know that since your child was in elementary school, you have heard that parental involvement is one of the keys to student achievement. This remains, even in high school, a critical component.

Over the next 5 years we will be working on implementing our Strategic Plan. This plan is designed to ensure that we make annual progress toward our student achievement goals. We are seeking significant improvement in our End of Course Exams in English, Algebra, Biology and Social Studies, our College Readiness Exams like the ACT and the SAT, and our Graduation Rate.

As a parent, you have a major role to play as we work toward our goals. First, make sure you have downloaded the PowerSchool App on your phone so that you can monitor grades. Second, ensure that your child is making adequate progress by checking on homework, regularly communicating with teachers, and ensuring that your child is on time and prepared for school every day.

Again, I am so pleased to be the principal of this great school. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help your child's time with us the very best it can be!
