Good Evening R.B. Stall High School Parents and Students,

I want to share some best practices we are learning to improve virtual learning.  All students will find themselves as virtual learners at some point or another, so these tips can be helpful for all!

    1. Turn your Zoom camera ON!
      • This will help you maintain your focus, effort and accountability!
      • Eye contact will help you stay engaged!
      • Use a custom background.  Try a picture of the school or your classroom!
    2. Treat your Virtual School days like a "traditional" school day.
      • Get in a regular routine.  Wake up, shower, and dress like you would for school.
      • Arrive to class on-time and prepared.
      • Get organized!  Whether you prefer electronic or paper, keep a notebook to help stay organized.
    3. Stay on top of grades, assignments, and due dates!!
      • Whether electronic or paper, keep an agenda or calendar of due dates.
      • Keep up with Canvas assignments for each course (Parents can become "observers" to see all their student's assignments, just ask any of your child's teachers).
      • Check PowerSchool frequently! (Parents can get their own password by emailing shsparentportalhelp@charleston.k12.sc.us)
      • Attend the virtual afterschool tutoring on Tuesday's and Thursday's 3:30pm-6:00pm.  Complete the Google form each day you plan to attend.

If students or parents would like additional support in any of these areas or would like assistance connecting with PowerSchool or Canvas, please call the R.B. Stall High School front office at 843-764-2200 and we can connect you with someone to assist!

It's a Great Day to be a Warrior!
