  • Early College High School hosts graduation for inaugural class

    One hundred students walked onto the Early College High School campus in 2017, daring to successfully complete a program new to the district. That first year, 20 students left before the tenth day of school, and over the years others moved away from Charleston. Four years later, 71 remain. All of those students graduated with a high school diploma and nearly half with an associate’s degree.

    CCSD officials surprised five unsuspecting teachers today by announcing their selection of the Top 5 Finalists for 2021 Teacher of the Year.

  • "ACE" student at Burke receives $20,000 scholarship

    Burke High School senior Kaiasia Williams has pursued an engineering career for several years. This spring, her pursuit of that goal became a little easier thanks to a $20,000 CMiC-Allen Berg Memorial Scholarship from the ACE (Architecture, Construction, and Engineering) Mentor Program of America. Williams is one of 37 students nationwide to receive this particular scholarship.

  • Samuel wins Spellbound! again

    Keerthana Samuel, a seventh-grader at C.E. Williams Middle School was victorious for the second time in the Spellbound! regional spelling bee March 25, 2021, at the North Charleston Athletic Center.
