Sharon Beeson is committed to serving the students and families at James Simons Montessori School, specifically the children in her Upper Elementary class. That commitment led to a national award; she is one of four recipients of the McGraw Hill ALEKS All-Star Educator Award for 2022.

17th Annual Burke High School Band Scholarship Fair
High school junior and senior band students, parents, and media outlets are welcome and encouraged to attend the 17th Annual Burke High School Band Scholarship Fair. Band representatives from almost a dozen historically black colleges and universities will be on hand Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to conduct the auditions.

Lucy Beckham High School now a partner in the Daffodil Project
Lucy Garrett Beckham High School students participated in the Daffodil Project Wednesday, December 15, 2021. This project was spearheaded by junior Emma Bluestein, with the help of fellow classmates Lucy Scott and Lila Avendano.

Sanders-Clyde students receive glasses at no charge through Vision To Learn
Over 80 students at Sanders Clyde Elementary School will receive new, prescription glasses thanks to Vision to Learn. The non-profit offers screenings, exams, and glasses to children in need in Title 1 schools at no charge to the students or their families.

CCSD Scholars Academy ready for first year
A group of 30 ninth-grade students entered the 2021-2022 school year as pioneers. They are part of the first cohort for the Scholars Academy, a partnership between Charleston County School District (CCSD) and the College of Charleston.
