• Hello Trojans!

With graduation right around the corner, the time has come to explain the required JICHS Senior Clearance process.

    What is Senior Clearance?

Senior Clearance is a checkout process where each JICHS graduation candidate is cleared by the school to make sure all candidates have returned textbooks, devices, and other classroom-issued materials. Senior Clearance also ensures all fees have been paid through Revtrak.

    When and Where?

Senior Clearance will take place on May 29th, 30th, and 31st between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:30 am in the JICHS Library. You will need to have a photo ID to enter campus and complete this process.

    Is this required?

Yes, each graduation candidate is required to complete this process. Candidates will not be allowed to participate in the James Island Charter High School commencement ceremony on June 8, 2024 if checkout is not completed.

What should I do between now and next Wednesday?

Prior to May 29th, please complete the following.

    1) Complete the Naviance Senior Survey.

    2) Turn in any instruments, JROTC uniforms, art supplies, etc... to the instructor over those classes/programs.

    4) Return chromebooks, chargers, or calculators, and/or books to the library after your last exam. Students must include the charger that was issued with their chromebook. If it was lost, a receipt from RevTrak showing the $30 non refundable chromebook cord fee was paid when returning the device. All chromebooks being returned will be checked for visible damage.  Any fines assessed for broken or missing materials will be immediately put into PowerSchool and must be taken care of before final clearance.

    5) Return textbooks to the bookroom or Office 120 after your last exam.  If you do not return your textbook, a fine will be placed on your PowerSchool account which will hinder you from being able to checkout.

    6) Check the desktop version of PowerSchool for any outstanding fees. Payments may be made in RevTrak. Families facing financial hardship are encouraged to reach out to their student's administrator.

    Yearbook Pick Up:

After Senior Checkout is signed off by the administrator, Seniors can report to ROOM 142 to pick up their yearbook and senior t-shirt.

    Final Notes:

JICHS will be operating on a regular bell schedule between May 29th and 31st. We will not be able to accommodate seniors that arrive before 9:00 am or after 11:30 am. Please plan appropriately. Students that drive to campus are expected to park in the student parking lot and enter the building near the attendance office.

When you report to the Library for Senior Clearance, you will be given a personalized form indicating what departments you will need to visit prior to being cleared. After being cleared you will sign the form and leave it with the administrator working the final station.

If you haven't done so already, please checkout the JICHS Class of 2024 Graduation Page for other important information.

    Finish strong!
