  • Bus Schedule for Device Exchange

    Starting today, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, technicians from Charleston County School District's Information Technology Department will be at WiFi bus locations to exchange broken CCSD-issued devices with working devices.

  • West Ashley High students doing their part to support healthcare community

    Students at West Ashley High School (WAHS) are taking homework to a new level while they are e-Learning from home. Several students on the WAHS Robotics Team, led by Mechatronics teacher Nick Holmes, are helping give back to the community by assisting healthcare professionals in the fight against the coronavirus.

  • Operation Kid Care – CCSD/Roper St. Francis Healthcare Partnership

    CCSD and Roper St. Francis Healthcare have partnered to create Operation Kid Care at Memminger Elementary. CCSD’s Expanded Learning (Kaleidoscope) Department will supervise 27 elementary school-aged children of direct patient caregivers or those providing support in a patient care setting.

  • SOA Costume & Fashion Design students using their skills to support health workers

    The students in Caroline Baker’s Costume & Fashion Design classes at Charleston County School of the Arts (SOA) received some tough news this week. Since the closure of schools in South Carolina is now extended through the end of April due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, SOA’s annual Fashion Show is postponed indefinitely. However, from adversity comes opportunity - an opportunity to serve and support the health care community.

  • CCSD Teachers of the Year

    Charleston County School District (CCSD) officials surprised five unsuspecting teachers on February 28, by announcing their selection of the Top 5 Finalists for 2020 Teacher of the Year. The district’s current Teacher of the Year, Jayuntay Williams, (West Ashley Middle School) presented each finalist with flowers and a certificate. Each finalist had the opportunity to check out a BMW from Rick Hendrick BMW of Charleston that the District Teacher of the Year will receive at the TOY Celebration Dinner, which is scheduled for April 29, 2020. Congratulations to each of our finalists!

  • Unsung Educator of the Week

    The "Unsung Educator of the Week" is a weekly honor given to a CCSD educator. The winner is nominated by a peer because of their determination to go above and beyond for our students. The winner for the week is published each Friday in the CCSD All Staff newsletter.
