  • Mask Waivers

    Statement from CCSD Board: As a Board of Trustees we must comply with the executive order to allow for facemask waivers, but we use this opportunity to earnestly appeal to all parents to allow the successful protocols put in place for this most unusual year to remain in place for this school year.

  • CCSD hosts Teach Local signing day

    Four CCSD students participated in a “signing day” to celebrate their commitment to work in the district when they graduate college in the near future. These four students, Lillian Avery, Aaron Booth, Ivy Grinnage, and Tina Robinson, are all graduating seniors from Early College High School, and part of the CCSD’s Teach Local program, which provides high school students with training to become an educator and support to attend a college and earn a degree in education.

  • Academic Magnet’s Lily Lassiter honored as 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar

    Lily Lassiter, her family, and the Academic Magnet High School community are celebrating a significant honor; the senior is a 2021 United States Presidential Scholar. The U.S. Department of Education announced the 57th class of U.S. Presidential Scholars today. This award is considered one of the nation’s highest awards for students.

  • NMSC awards three CCSD students with $2,500 scholarships

    Three Charleston County School District (CCSD) students earned $2,500 National Merit Scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). All three recipients of the NMSC’s 2021 $2,500 scholarships are from Academic Magnet High School: Lydia R. Cox, Brendan P. Elliott, and Ethan A. Ouellette.

    The "Unsung Educator of the Week" is a weekly honor given to a CCSD educator. The winner is nominated by a peer because of their determination to go above and beyond for our students. The winner for the week is published each Friday in the CCSD All Staff newsletter.
