Career and Technology Education Month - Biomedical students learn everything from DNA analysis to dissection
Students in Erica Wolfsen’s class have their sights set on a variety of healthcare-related careers. The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Biomedical Science classes at West Ashley Center for Advanced Studies (WACAS) allow them to dabble in an array of biomedical sciences, systems, and interventions.

UPDATED - Schedule for voluntary COVID-19 and Flu test clinics in February
The district, through a grant from DHEC, will provide free COVID-19 and Flu A and B testing for all students and staff, who wish to be tested, during February.

CCSD and RiverDogs move into seventh year of “Reading Around the Bases” partnership
CCSD and the Charleston RiverDogs, the Lowcountry’s professional baseball team (and Single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) will start the seventh season of their second-grade reading initiative, “Reading Around the Bases.”

Charleston County School District (CCSD) started its School Choice application process for the 2023-2024 school year on January 24, 2023. The window will close on February 24, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.

The "Unsung Educator of the Week" is a weekly honor given to a CCSD educator. The winner is nominated by a peer because of their determination to go above and beyond for our students. The winner for the week is published each Friday in the CCSD All Staff newsletter.

2021-2022 Year in Review
It is with great pleasure that Charleston County School District presents our successes from the 2021-22 school year in this annual CCSD Year In Review. After several years of adjustments to deal with the issues related to the pandemic, we finally had a full school year with the most normal conditions we have had in three years.
