Ms. Loretta Hart, Principal
With great excitement and honor, I have the opportunity to lead Mary Ford Early Learning and Family Center. A school with such a rich legacy and pride. I look forward to meeting all of you and working alongside the community. I have dedicated sixteen years of my career to the students of Mary Ford. I started my career as an early childhood classroom teacher at Mary Ford and then moved on to a master reading teacher/interventionist. I then became an assistant principal for five years. And now, as the principal. I am eager to continue the work and dedication of my time and skills to serving the Mary Ford community.
I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much more about the uniqueness of our students, staff, and families this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to unite my experience, openness to learning, and child-centered approach to support our students. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible.

Mrs. Melissa Dudzinski, Assistant Principal
I am so honored to be your Assistant Principal here at Mary Ford Early Learning and Family Center. I have been a special education teacher in Charleston County for nine years, serving as a resource teacher and as a behavior support teacher. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of Alabama, and moved to Charleston in 2011 after accepting a job as a Child Life Specialist in the MUSC Pediatric Emergency Room. Over the next three years, I found my passion for teaching young children and decided to pursue a career in education. I received my Master’s Degree in Special Education in 2015, and in 2021 I completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership at The Citadel.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending as much time outside as possible with my husband and our three children–Joseph (6), Miller (3), and Molly (1). One of our newest hobbies is visiting the beach and hunting for shark teeth! I love any and all sports, but especially love playing tennis and watching college football. I am so excited to be joining the team at Mary Ford Early Learning and Family Center and look forward to building new relationships with the school and community.
