Ms. Ashley is the 3rd grade Reading Interventionist at Meeting Street Elementary at Burns. She is a native of Charleston, South Carolina and just recently moved back home from living in Tallahassee, Florida for sixteen years. Ms. Ashley attendee Florida A&M University (FAMU) and received her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked at John G. Riley Elementary as a teacher for 10 years, teaching mostly 3rd grade. She then furthered her education, receiving her Master’s Degree in Brain Based Teaching from Nova Southeastern University. Her passion is to help children gain their confidence and love for literacy. When she isn’t reading books, like Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, and Game of Thrones, Ms. Ashley is spending lots of quality time with her husband (Jarrod Sr.) two children (Gracen and Sonny), and her dog Santino.

Ms. Beaudin joined Meeting Street Elementary at Burns after a recent move to the Charleston area from Virginia. After graduating from James Madison University, she taught second and third grade for 9 years before working as an Interventionist and then as an Instructional Coach for Winchester Public Schools. From and early age, she was drawn to diversity and equity and this passion only grew as she worked in a public school system in which the achievement gap seemed to only grow. Through her various leadership opportunities, she brainstormed new ideas and implemented various changes with the goal of closing the gap. A chance encounter introduced her to Meeting Street Schools and after researching the amazing things MSS has to offer underserved populations, she was hooked and her passion was reignited! In her free time Ms. Beaudin enjoys spending time with her husband and two children on the beach, downtown, and in her community. She loves trying new restaurants, exercising, and exploring all this beautiful area has to offer!

Coach Bellanco is the Physical Education teacher for Meeting Street Elementary Burns. He Moved to Charleston from Scranton, Pennsylvania in August 2018. He is beginning his sixth year teaching and has experience teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. When not teaching, Coach B is extremely passionate about health and fitness, especially bodybuilding. He is also an avid sports fan, who's favorite teams include the Minnesota Vikings, Miami Hurricanes, and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Ms. Bretl will be starting her first year with Meeting Street Elementary at Burns, but her ninth year teaching overall. She attended the University of Iowa and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Reading and Language Arts. This Spring, she finished her graduate program from her alma mater and now holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching, Leadership, and Cultural Competency. Before settling into a first grade classroom for 5 years, she was a preschool and substitute teacher for grades K-8. Her passion for education extends beyond the school day. During her time as a first grade teacher, she coached cheerleading and led an after school homework program. She moved from Chicago, Illinois to Charleston this summer and is so excited to take advantage of the warmer weather. Outside of teaching, Ms. Bretl loves to play with her dog, Kona, try out new recipes in the kitchen, snuggle up with a good book, and practice yoga.

Ms. Brown is a proud Charleston native. She grew up on James Island and graduated as a dance major from Charleston County School of the Arts. During her time at SOA, she had the privilege of assisting dance classes at Burns Elementary! She is a graduate of Winthrop University, with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. After graduating, she moved to Beaufort, where she taught Pre-K in a Title I school for 3 years. She is very excited to be back in Charleston. Ms. Brown is beginning her 8th year in education as a lead teacher at MSE@Burns. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, but spent most of her time growing up in Pella, IA. After highschool, she attended the University of Northern Iowa and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Mathematics for K-8. To begin her teaching career Ms. Brown taught math and English in Tanzania, Africa. Shortly after, she moved to Denver, Colorado and spent 6 years teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. After teaching for a few years, she attended The University of Northern Colorado and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Special Education Directing. Most recently she has been the instructional coach at an elementary school. Ms. Brown is incredibly excited to start a new adventure in Charleston and getting back to her roots in working towards closing the achievement gap for underserved communities. In her spare time, she loves to read, exercise, try out new restaurants, spend time with her pup Jack, and enjoy the beach. Most importantly, she continues to cheer for her home state teams: the Bengals, the Reds, and The Ohio State Buckeyes!

She received both her BA (Hollins University) and her Masters of Science (College of Charleston) in Environmental Science.  In addition, she is a Certified Practitioner of Orton-Gillingham through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. She started with Meeting Street Elementary at Burns in January 2019 and this is her 10th year of teaching overall. Ms. Chandler is starting her second year as an educator with Meeting Street Schools; however, this will be her 7th year as a teacher altogether. She moved to Summerville, SC from Norfolk, VA the summer of 2017 with her Navy employed husband. She is a new mom to adorable baby girl Emily. Together with her husband, Derrick, she has 2 adorable dogs, 4 loving cats, 1 very cute hamster and a handful of fish. Outside of education and her obvious love for animals, she enjoys gardening with a focus on native plants and attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. A graduate from Old Dominion University, she received both her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies and her M.S. in Elementary Education PreK-6th grade. Ms. Chitty is beginning her first year as a special education teacher at Meeting Street Elementary at Burns. She was raised in Atlanta, Georgia but quickly fell in love with Charleston when she moved to attend College of Charleston. She followed her passion for education and studied special education while at CofC. She went on to teach for two years at Goose Creek High School and loved her time spent building relationships with students and families. While teaching, she realized the reality of the achievement gap. She decided to go back to school and is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Ms. Chitty is thrilled to be returning to her favorite city and most of all, to the classroom. She cannot wait to join the MSE@Burns team! In her free time, she enjoys traveling, attempting to cook, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog Bella.

Ms. Cole was raised as an Army brat and landed in Augusta, GA where she finished high school, and attended Augusta State University to receive a Bachelors in Social Work. While in Augusta she began working with at-risk youth as an After School Counselor. It was during this time her love for working youth grew. She eventually relocated to attend graduate school at the University of Georgia where she gained a Masters in Social Work. While living in the Atlanta area, she worked as a Case Manager for mother’s struggling with substance abuse issues. After that she went on the spend three years with the Public Defenders Office as a Social Worker. Her work with the Public Defenders Office turned her back to youth in hopes to be a part of the solution to the school to prison pipeline. She relocated to Charleston, SC to begin working at Meeting Street Schools. In her free time Ms. Cole loves exploring the outdoors with her two dogs, attending music festivals, and traveling to see new sights.

Mr. Coles is beginning his second year as a Teacher at Meeting Street Elementary at Burns. He was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Navy and served for a period eight years, and was honorably discharged. While serving in the Navy, he began matriculating at Morgan University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health. Shortly thereafter, he was hired by his 3rd grade teacher who had become a principal in the Baltimore City Public School System and began teaching. Over a span of 15 years, Mr. Coles has worked in or around the Baltimore School System in many different capacities and has varied experience. He most recently joined the ranks of Teach For America and has relocated to South Carolina. He is a father of two, enjoys a consistent fitness routine, loves to travel and cook and more importantly, loves to eat good food. Go Ravens!

Ms. Downey is the school social worker for Meeting Street Elementary @ Burns. She is from Nashville, Tennessee. She has lived in Knoxville where she received her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Tennessee as well as Columbia, SC where she received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Before coming to Meeting Street, she worked with Duke University’s Talent Identification Program and their students for several years serving in their residential camps. She worked with Homeless No More SC and Richland County School District One as an MSW Intern. Ms. Downey has also assisted with several non-profits in the South Carolina area that focus on empowerment of children and their families. She has tried to use her passion for helping children, youth, and their families guide her throughout her career. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her pets, visiting family and friends, cheering on the UT Vols, starting new DIY projects, and discovering new foods.

Ms. DuRant was born and raised in South Carolina and attended Clemson University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. After graduation she moved to New York City where she worked for a national education nonprofit called City Year. She started as an AmeriCorps Member and gave a year of service in East Harlem which is one of the many under served communities City Year New York works in. She also held the role of Team Leader, Program Manager and Senior Program Manager during her time there. She oversaw tutoring, mentoring, and event planning that her AmeriCorps members provided and she acted as a liaison and teammate to the teachers, faculty, staff and administration at the many schools she managed. In her spare time Ms. DuRant enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and singing off-key at all the best country concerts.

Ms. Foreman was born and raised in South Carolina and attended the College of Charleston where she received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education with 4 state certifications (including Early Childhood Education). After working in both Berkeley and Charleston County School Districts, she purchased a private preschool in West Ashley, SC where she wore many hats – owner, director, and 4K lead teacher. She oversaw the preschool for 10 years before selling the business and returning to Charleston County School District to teach Child Development. When Ms. Foreman was given the opportunity to become a founding member of Meeting Street Elementary at Burns in the Pre-K program, she jumped at the chance! She believes that early childhood education is the foundation for educational success and loves that she will be part of a team that believes every child should be given the opportunity to achieve! In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family (she has 8 children, ages 1-15), going to Disney World, napping, watching Perry Mason episodes, baking, and couponing.

Ms. Fulton is beginning her first year as a teacher at Meeting Street Elementary at Burns. She recently graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Before attending College of Charleston, she lived in Hilton Head Island with her family for 15 years. Throughout her years at the university, she had the opportunity to gain experience in many elementary classrooms across diverse schools. She also worked as an Extended Day teacher for K-8th grade at a school in downtown Charleston. Ms. Fulton completed her student teaching at Meeting Street Elementary at Brentwood in a 4th grade classroom. She admired the schools mission and is grateful to be starting her teaching career with Meeting Street Schools. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time in the sunshine such as going to the beach and on leisurely walks. She also enjoys exploring new places in the Charleston area.

She began her teaching career in New Orleans, LA as a 2018 Corps Member with Teach for America. Ms. Hughes has a passion for going beyond traditional expectations to support the academic and personal growth of her students. Ms. Keener is beginning her first year as a Teaching Fellow at Meeting Street Elementary at Burns. She was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. She moved to Charleston in 2016 to begin her journey at the College of Charleston. She recently graduated in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. Through the elementary education program at the College of Charleston, she has been able to teach in a variety of schools around Charleston. She quickly realized that her passion was to serve in a school with a focus on closing the achievement gap. During college Ms. Keener served as a volunteer for WyldLife, a youth mentorship organization for students in local middle schools. In addition, she was part of the Teacher Leader program in which she participated in site visits, mentorships, and roundtable discussions. Through this experience she gained a wider view of the educational landscape and developed various skills to traverse this landscape as an effective communicator, problem-solver, and innovator. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, baking, reading, going on long walks, writing letters to friends and family, hiking, skiing, and going to the beach.

Ms. Kelley is a first year teacher coming into Meeting Street at Burns as a Teaching Fellow. She was born and raised in Easley, South Carolina. She comes from a huge family and wouldn't have it any other way. She remained in Easley until her sophomore year of college where she moved to North Charleston to attend Charleston Southern University. She attended CSU for two years before moving back home to complete her degree at Clemson University, Go Tigers! Ms. Kelley has an emphasis is literacy, culture, and diversity that allows her to bring something special to this role! Her passion is to serve children that need her help the most, especially those who may be considered the "underdogs" in the education field. She came from a similar background, so her dedication is top notch. Her time in the classroom has taught her that education is her calling and she can not wait for this new adventure to begin. In her free time Ms. Kelley enjoys hiking, doing anything outdoors, going to the beach, drinking coffee, and reading a good book. She also loves Clemson Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball, so during those seasons you can find her planted in front of a TV screen watching sports!

Ms. King is starting her first year teaching at Meeting Street Elementary at Burns. She was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She attended a historically black university, North Carolina Central University and obtained her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. She is a first generation college graduate and graduated Magna Cum Laude from NCCU. While completing her undergraduate degree, she worked as an active substitute in Title 1 schools with Durham County Public School System. During her senior year, she was chosen to attend NASA’s Minority University Research and Education Project. She spent a week at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA, training and learning how to incorporate kid friendly STEM projects in the classroom. Outside of the classroom, Ms. King enjoys reading, trying new recipes, listening to music, time at the beach and watching reruns of old Saturday morning cartoons. She looks forward to working with students, parents, teachers, and the community to fulfill the need of her students on their academic journeys.

Ms. Lamb teaching career started with Teach for America in a quest to make our education system more equitable across our country. Unlike most races run, this one has only given her more fire and energy as she runs it! She comes to Charleston with 3 years of teaching experience from the banks of the Mississippi river in Arkansas. She has spent time teaching 5th grade general education and kindergarten through fifth grade art. She served as a grade level chair and the head of after school programming in the past and is excited to bring her experiences to Meeting Street Schools' students. Ms. Lamb graduated from Campbell University in North Carolina with a double major in Public Relations and Spanish with a minor in Health Communications. She played Division I lacrosse for 4 years and loves to be active and share her love for the game with others! When not teaching and learning in the classroom, she loves to be outside, to be creating (literally anything-send her some ideas!), and to be with her dog, Levi.

Ms. LeBlanc is a graduate of the University of Florida. Before joining the team at Burns, she was an Operations Specialist at Trident United Way where she managed the day to day operations of the Berkeley Prosperity Center, a community center in Moncks Corner that assisted families with financial stability services. She loves being a part of the mission of Meeting Street Schools and believes that a great education creates an opportunity for positive financial, social, and health related outcomes. Outside of work, Ms. LeBlanc enjoys spending time with friends, shopping, traveling, watching classic movies and period pieces, repurposing furniture and probably more than anything else -a good laugh!

Ms. Lesky-Aull is beginning her first year at Meeting Street Schools as a Lead Behavior Interventionist. She is a Charleston native and played volleyball at Wando High School and then went on to play in college. She graduated from Columbia College with an Elementary Education degree and pursued her masters degree from Northeastern University. During her 10 years of teaching she gained experience from multiple states including South Carolina, Connecticut & North Carolina. While in Connecticut Ms. Lesky-Aull was apart of the 2014-2015 third grade team that had the highest math scores in the state and was recognized by her Superintendent. While working as a third grade teacher in Raleigh, NC, she also served as the leader of the Tier Behavior Team to support teachers and students throughout the building. She is so excited to be moving back to Charleston and closer to her family! She loves spending time on the boat with her family and loves to take her 4 year old son shark fishing. In her free time she loves to go fishing offshore, hunting, running, and anything competitive.

Mr. McKeown was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina but moved to Athens, West Virginia to attend Concord University to pursue his undergraduate work in Elementary Education. He began his teaching career with Mercer County as a Title 1 Instructional and Reading Teacher. After two years, he moved back home to South Carolina to be closer to the coast in Beaufort. Mr. McKeown taught First grade and Kindergarten in Beaufort County for four years at Joseph Shanklin Elementary. During this time, he completed his Master of Education in Educational Administration, served on district and school committees, wrote district-wide curriculum, mentored new teachers, and evaluated teacher performance. In 2018, he started as Director of Development and Marketing for the Neighborhood Outreach Connection, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting poverty. Mr. McKeown loves to relax with Brian and their two dogs and cat, search for shark’s teeth, read books that take him to a different world, and sing and dance to music.

Ms. Michaeli is beginning her first year as a Teaching Fellow at Meeting Street Elementary @ Burns. She is from Fort Mill, South Carolina and moved to Charleston for college. She attended Charleston Southern University and received her degree in Early Childhood Education. She completed her student teaching experience in a second-grade class at Sangaree Elementary. This experience gave her a strong passion for education and creating community inside of the classroom. Ms. Michaeli also participated in the CERRA Teaching Fellow program throughout college. She has been around kids her whole life, from nannying to teaching swim lessons, every job has involved kids! Mr. Milford was born and raised in Charleston, SC. He is a graduate of Charleston Southern University where he played football and achieved his Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences, and later received his Master of Science in Organizational Leadership in Counseling from Springfield College. He has an extensive background working to strengthen families and the community. He has operated as the coordinator of several nonprofit organizations, in which he has served as a specialist in alternatives to incarcerations and fostered relationships between various organizations in order to provide the resources essential to clients being sponsored. When he in not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He also loves to play and coach sports as a hobby, and he is a die hard Cincinnati Bengals and LA Lakers fan. Ms. Morris is beginning her first year with Meeting Street as a Teaching Fellow! She was born and raised in Virginia, but moved to Tennessee to complete her Bachelors in Human Services at East Tennessee State University. During her time at ETSU, she spent her sophomore Spring Break with the Pueblo of Jemez in New Mexico and worked with high school students. She fell in love with the thought of teaching and decided to change her career path. Upon graduation from ETSU, she attended the College of Charleston where she received her Masters of Arts in Teaching in grades 2-6. During her time at CofC, she completed her clinical hours in a fourth-grade classroom. Outside of teaching, Ms. Morris enjoys going to Folly Beach and Sullivan's Island to watch the sunset, walking The Battery with friends, drawing, and taking cycling classes! Ms. Newcity is entering her tenth year as an elementary Media Specialist. She is very excited to be starting at MES@Burns as the school's first Media Specialist. She was born and raised in Charleston but moved to Rock Hill, SC to pursue an undergraduate degree in both Psychology and Sociology at Winthrop University. Then, she went on to receive a Master of Arts in Teaching. During this time, she worked as an Outreach Assistant at the York County Library. It was then that Ms. Newcity decided to combine her love of the library with her drive towards student achievement in education. She went on to obtain her Masters in Library Science with a certification as a school media specialist from the University of South Carolina. She loves to travel, chase snow storms, attend wrestling events, and sing to her heart's content at live music concerts. Cario Middle School. Prior to that she spent one year teaching in Hardeeville, South Carolina and a year teaching special education with a school in Parma, Ohio. She is passionate about special education. Ms. Nye is from Cleveland, Ohio and has a bachelor's degree in special education from Miami University of Ohio. While in college she focused on both mild to moderate and moderate to severe special education with a focus on family studies. Ms. Patel was born in Winona, Mississippi and raised in a small town called Covington, Tennessee. She also speaks three different languages including English, Hindi and Gujarati. She brings joy, laughter and a deep passion to help her students. She has spent her last few years educating students in Memphis, Tennessee. She taught at Memphis College Preparatory Elementary, preparing kindergartners for first grade. She uses her creative thinking skills to design interactive challenging assignments that are fun and engaging for all students in her class. She has 7 years’ experience teaching and most of those years were spent in underserved communities. She has always wanted to be a teacher and has been drawn to serve the communities that need it the most. Being from the Philadelphia area, her interest in underserved communities came from her student teaching experience and her volunteer experience in the Philadelphia Area School District. Ms. Ribble graduated from Alfred University in rural New York with a BSN then joined the Navy where she obtained nursing and management experience in many areas of nursing. She left the active duty Navy, but stayed in the reserves, to stay in Charleston. After the Navy, she worked at East Cooper Hospital (Nursery and Labor and Delivery) and MUSC (pediatrics) in both management and staff positions before becoming a school nurse 3 years ago. Prior to joining Meeting Street Schools in 2014, Ms. Robinson served as the Director of Data & Assessment Coaching at the KIPP Foundation. She also spent a decade working in Charleston County School District as a teacher and instructional coach. Additionally, she has consulted with teachers and leaders in over 250 schools across the nation to help them use achievement data to inform instruction. She has also served as a consultant with the State Department of Assessment. Ms. Savage grew up in Iowa where she stayed to complete her Bachelor's degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services at Iowa State University. During her undergrad, she was an Assistant Teacher at a Child Development Center in Hawaii where her desire to work with students in a classroom setting grew. Upon graduating, Ms. Savage moved to Lawton, Oklahoma as an AmeriCorps member to teach 3rd grade in an under-resourced school district. Ms. Sawyer is beginning her 1st year at Meeting Street Elementary. She was born and raised in South Carolina. She just moved to the Charleston area from Lexington, where she has lived her whole life. She graduated from Columbia College twice! She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1994. She earned her Masters in Education of the Divergent Learner in 2001. In 2017, she graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with a Masters in Education Administration and Supervision degree. Teaching is a passion of hers. She began teaching at the early age of 5 when she would line up all her stuffed animals and doll babies and play school. She has served as a math interventionist/coach and taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade and 6th grade. She has even run her own in-home daycare, caring for 9 children (all under the age of 2) at one point in her career. When Ms. Sawyer is not busy trying to make a difference in the lives of others around her, she enjoys traveling with her family, cooking, singing in the church choir and acting when the opportunity arises.

Ms. Scott is a Special Education teacher here at Meeting Street Elementary Burns. She just recently relocated to Charleston from Winston-Salem, NC to be closer to her paternal family while advancing her career in education. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Winston-Salem State University in Psychology and subsequently began working with students with special needs as a Teacher's Assistant. This inspired her to pursue an advanced degree in Education and obtain a Master's degree of Education from Strayer University. She is a passionate educator who has worked with learners from all backgrounds on every end of the spectrum. Ms. Scully is originally from North Carolina. She graduated from Winthrop University in 2017, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. During this time, she also received her certification as a Registered Behavior Technician, working with students on the autism spectrum. A believer in lifelong learning, she is also currently enrolled in Liberty University’s Master of Education program in Special Education Curriculum and Instruction. After her undergraduate graduation, Ms. Scully moved to Washington, D.C. to participate in KIPP DC’s Capital Teaching Residency program, falling in love with teaching and learning. It was there that she became passionate about closing the achievement gap and educational equity. She has taught fourth and first grade in Washington, D.C’s Ward 7 and Hyattsville, Maryland. After graduation she took a break from school and took a position as Behavioral Specialist at a therapeutic childcare center where she worked with children that have behavioral health diagnosis. After two years as Behavioral Specialist, she was promoted to Lead Behavioral Specialist, where she oversaw staff members in the classroom, conducted weekly meetings and developed lesson plans. Ms. Smith went back to school where she received a Master’s Degree in School Counseling in 2018 and received her credentials as National Certified Counselor. Ms. Temple is a 5th Grade Math Teacher here at Meeting Street Elementary Burns and is joining us full time after working with us over the past six years supporting our literacy needs on a consultative basis. She spent her previous 8 years working for STEP at The University of Chicago, facilitating professional development and coaching teachers and leaders around literacy best practices and data driven instruction in schools throughout the country. Prior to her work at STEP, She was a classroom teacher in the Chicagoland area for 15 years, working with students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Ms. Temple relocated with her family from Chicago to Charleston 6 years ago after falling in love with all it has to offer. She loves to spend any time outside of work with her husband Brad, their 3 children, and dog Leo. She loves long walks on the beach, cooking, and taking advantage of any opportunity she has to travel and explore the world. After receiving her masters, Ms. Thompson became a speech therapist for an elementary school in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Tucker is beginning his 7th year as a music educator and 2nd year with Meeting Street Schools. He was born and raised in the Charleston area and graduated from Summerville High School in 2009. He attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill SC and received the degree of Bachelors of Music Education in 2013. Shortly after graduation he began teaching middle school band at James Martin Middle School in Charlotte, NC. In 2014 he moved back home to the Charleston area and taught for 5 years at Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School. During this time he completed his Master of Music Education at Boston University and graduated in 2016. Mr. Tucker is married to Kristen, a special education teacher and they have 3 children- Micah, Sariah, and Ezrah. His passion for teaching music started early in elementary school and believes that when children are exposed to music education they can become not only excellent musicians but also leaders in their homes and communities. Ms. Ulles came to Charleston to be closer to her family who all live in the Charleston area. She was born in Connecticut and attended Fairfield University, where she graduated with a degree in Economics in 2009. After college, she moved to Chicago, IL where she was a part of the Teach for America Program. She taught preschool as a 2009 Corps Member and received her Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education during her 2 years in the program. After finishing the TFA experience, Ms. Ulles moved on to work at KIPP Ascend Primary School as a kindergarten teacher, on the West Side of Chicago. She continued to work at KIPP Ascend for 5 years teaching and leading in kindergarten and first grade roles. In 2016 she went on to become a founding team member of KIPP Chicago’s second primary school, KIPP One Primary School. While there, she served as a Kindergarten Teacher and most recently, the Assistant Principal, working with the kindergarten and first grade teams. As an Assistant Principal, she was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to participate in the Relay Graduate School of Education’s, National Principals Academy Fellowship where she gained powerful professional development. In her free time, Ms. Ulles loves to pursue her other passions like real estate, puppies, Costco shopping and soccer.

Ms. Vice super excited to be a part of Meeting Street Elementary at Burns and everything it has to offer as a whole. She is a native here in Charleston. She has an Associates in Arts studying Psychology. She studied at Trident Technical College. Her passion of child care began with the role of an after school counselor. She then transitioned to roles such as a summer camp counselor, and has grown to becoming a Teacher’s Assistant. Ms. Vice spends most of free time babysitting throughout different communities. Besides taking care of children she loves watching movies, spending time with friends & family, and tryng new foods.

Mr. Warren was born & raised in Charleston, South Carolina and attended Limestone College where he received his Bachelor of Social Work. Soon after graduation Andrew worked for a non-profit organization serving fathers in the Lowcountry as an Outreach Coordinator and later as an Intervention Specialist. He then servedthe youth as a Probation Officer for the Charleston County Department of Juvenile Justice. In his spare time, Mr. Warren enjoys spending time with his wife and son.

Ms. Warrington joined Meeting Street Schools as Director of Curriculum & Instruction following several years of serving schools in under-resourced communities as an elementary principal in both the public and charter sector. Prior to moving to Charleston, she was an elementary principal at the first public charter school for girls in Washington DC in the heart of the Anacostia community. Her ten years as an elementary teacher started in her hometown outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and ended at Fairfax County, Virginia. In addition to teaching, Ms.Warrington coached both volleyball and basketball. Knowing first-hand the powerful impact sports can have on adolescents, she was eager to coach high school girls. She received a scholarship to play basketball at Saint Vincent College where she was named Player of the Year and Kodak All-American her junior and senior year. Ms.Warrington received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. She received her master’s degree in School Leadership at the University of Pittsburgh. Passionate about equity in education, she has dedicated her career to being an advocate for youth and their families living in underserved neighborhoods. She is incredibly grateful and honored to be a part of the Meeting Street Schools team as they work relentlessly to transform education in South Carolina. In her leisure time, Ms. Warrington enjoys researching health and fitness, cooking, and working out on the beach with her husband, John, and their dog, Harlan.

Ms. Wheeler is an Operations Specialist here at Meeting Street Elementary Burns. She moved to Charleston from Boston, Massachusetts in January of 2017. She attended Suffolk University in Boston and ever the history major, she is beyond enchanted by the rich traditions and storied past this amazing city has to offer. Her passion to serve her community began when she acted as Elementary Teaching Assistant for a summer enrichment program geared towards closing the education and opportunity gap for children in underserved communities. Having come from a similar background she was truly able to connect with her students and feels inclined to pay it forward. Ms. Wheeler loves to cook, travel, spend time with her fiancé Kyle and puppy Lola, cheer for her hometown teams (Go Sox! Go Pats! Go Celtics!), and listen to true crime podcasts.

Ms. Williams was at Meeting Street Elementary @Brentwood for a year where she was a lead daycare teacher. She is very excited and happy to be joining Meeting Street Elementary @Burns this year working with PreK. Ms. Williams attended University of Phoenix where she received her Associate in Elementary Education degree. She is currently attending Ashford University to receive an Early Childhood Bachelor degree. She previously worked as lead daycare teacher, teacher assistant in Prek3. Mr. Worthy is extremely excited about his first year at Meeting Street Elementary Burns as a Physical Education teacher! He was born and raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina and moved to Charleston to attend the College of Charleston. In 2017, he graduated with a B.S. in Physical Education. To further prepare for his calling to serve the Charleston community, after college, he moved back home to learn about and expand his families’ businesses. There he served in various roles including SC/NC Realtor, Financial Counselor, Marketing Coordinator, and Small Group Leader. His experience in undergrad and in the business world has equipped him to serve both children and adults. In his spare time, Mr. Worthy loves to read the Bible and personal development books, getting active outdoors, cooking, and spending time with family and friends!
