    Boeing Supports Engineering Week at NCHS

    Students were exposed to all the variety of different Engineering disciplines that exist, comprehensive skill set of engineers, pathways into the field while overcoming obstacles, and in depth information of Boeing's revolutionary 787.

  •  Military Magnet Robotics

    MMA competes in Tech Challenge, Lowcountry-Pee Dee Inter-League Tournament

    Military Magnet Academy (MMA) students recently participated in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Tech Challenge, Lowcountry-Pee Dee Inter-League Tournament February 1, 2020.

    There were a total of 15 teams and 66 registered volunteers that participated in the event on Saturday, January 25, 2020 .

    The MMA RoboEagles spent a significant number of hours designing, building, and programming their robot, as well as learning what it takes to be part of a team.

  • MIT Initiative

    MIT students encourage young females to pursue STEM studies and careers

    Two students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) aid a visit to over ten CCSD schools to encourage young girls to pursue science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) studies, and career paths.

    The MIT Women's Initiative is a student-founded and student-run program that aims to help close the gender gap in the STEM fields.

    Camp Road Middle Job Shadowing

    On February 5, 2020, over 600 Camp Road Middle School students participated in job shadowing at various job sites around Charleston and beyond. Several businesses, such as the Charleston City Police Department, The Citadel, SC Dept of Natural Resources and Federal Wildlife Service set up a day of shadowing.

    Congratulations to Wando High School's Entrepreneurship students, who competed Dec 2-6 in YEScarolina Youth Entrepreneurship in South Carolina Business Plan Competition. 23 entrepreneurship students presented their business plans during the week.
