Charleston County School District Board of Trustees seeks the following community representatives to serve on the District’s Health Advisory Committee as current committee terms are expiring: 1 Clergy, 1 Community, 1 Teacher, and 2 Students (1 being Student Body President).

For the second time in as many months, multiple students from Charleston County School District (CCSD) earned scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s (NMSC) 2026 scholarship program. This week, four students, three from Academic Magnet High School and one from Wando High School, were announced as winners of the National Merit $2,500 Scholarship.

More than 30 student musicians from Burke High School will take center stage during the opening ceremonies of Spoleto Festival USA on May 22, 2026, marking the first time in more than a decade the Bulldogs have received the honor of performing during the internationally recognized festival’s opening celebration.

The Lucy Beckham High School boys’ lacrosse team cemented its status as the top program in the state with a convincing 11-1 victory in the South Carolina High School League AAAAA Division 2 state title game over Fort Mill on May 8, 2026, at Irmo High School.

The defense of the state title for Lucy Beckham High School girls’ lacrosse team was adventurous, but the Bengals still pulled it off, thanks to a 9-8 win over Fort Mill in the South Carolina High School League AAAAA Division 2 state finals on May 8, 2026, at Irmo High School.
