  • SOA dominates state's 2021 Junior Duck Stamp program

    For the second year in a row, a student from Charleston County School of the Arts earned Best of Show in the South Carolina Junior Duck Stamp art competition, sponsored by the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE). Freshman Julia Boyer recently won the Best of Show honor for her entry "The King Has Arrived." Boyer's work of art advances to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Junior Duck Stamp program.

  • "ACE" student at Burke receives $20,000 scholarship

    Burke High School senior Kaiasia Williams has pursued an engineering career for several years. This spring, her pursuit of that goal became a little easier thanks to a $20,000 CMiC-Allen Berg Memorial Scholarship from the ACE (Architecture, Construction, and Engineering) Mentor Program of America. Williams is one of 37 students nationwide to receive this particular scholarship.

  • R.B. Stall’s Tabytha Walls earns national recognition from ASBDA Foundation

    The American School Band Directors Association Education (ASBDA) Foundation recently announced that R.B. Stall High School’s band director, Tabytha Walls, is a recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Potential Award. This honor recognizes young band directors who show great potential and promise in the field of instrumental music education.

  • CCSD Seeks an Information Technology Professional to Volunteer on the District’s IT Oversight Committee

    CCSD Board of Trustees is seeking a community or industry leader with training and education experience in Information Technology to serve on the CCSD IT Citizens Oversight Committee for the two-year term ending June 2023, with the possibility of annual renewals after that time.

    The "Unsung Educator of the Week" is a weekly honor given to a CCSD educator. The winner is nominated by a peer because of their determination to go above and beyond for our students. The winner for the week is published each Friday in the CCSD All Staff newsletter.
