CCSD is closely monitoring the measles outbreak currently impacting South Carolina. While cases are concentrated in the Upstate and Columbia areas, CCSD Nursing Services is prepared and working in coordination with the South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) to keep students and staff safe.

Charleston County School District's 2026 Seamless Summer Feeding Program will provide free breakfast and lunch to children and teens at approved sites throughout the county for eight weeks this summer.

Wando High School senior Noah Iverson, co-editor in chief of Tribal Tribune newsmagazine and online news, has been named the 2026 South Carolina Scholastic Journalist of the Year (JOY) by the SC Scholastic Press Association (SCSPA) and the Journalism Education Association (JEA).
