The American Heart Association, a relentless force changing the future of health for everyone, everywhere, has named Jennifer Dawson as its National Kids Heart Challenge Coordinator of the Year, recognizing her two decades of leadership in promoting heart health, physical activity, and community service to her students at Jennie Moore Elementary School.

The CCSD Board of Trustees voted to authorize Superintendent Anita Huggins to negotiate a contract with Daniel Prentice to serve as Chief of Staff, an expanded leadership role focused on advancing the district’s strategic priorities in student achievement, organizational excellence, transparency, and strong community partnerships.

Students at four CCSD schools will benefit from a program that expands opportunities to prepare for and pursue postsecondary education, workforce training, and careers. CCSD and Trident Technical College (TTC) are partnering to facilitate a Talent Search program grant funded through the U.S. Department of Education.

Universal Pre-K
CCSD is proud to introduce Universal 3K and 4K, a premier early learning experience for three and four-year-old students designed to build strong academic and developmental foundations from the very start.
