Students in the Music group researched, listened to, and interpreted music forms and songs related to the African American heritage of the sea islands. They developed a repertoire of songs to accompany the Seabreezes dramatic production.

As a result of this project, these students were able to identify gospel, spiritual, adn contemporary music forms of the American American culture and the themes and purposes of the music. They also wrote an original song about Esau Jenkins and his contributions to the islands.
