Esau: Thank you, sah.

(As narrator talks, people work and talk)

Narrator: As Esau got familiar with his job on the boat, Sir Mac Mire caught a liking to Esau and started to teach him how to drive the boat. He also taught Esau Greek which would serve him well later since a lot of downtown merchants were Greek.

Sir Mac Mire: Esau, I would like to show you how to run the boat. You seem to catch on so quick.

Esau: Really sir?

Sir Mac Mire: Yes, I think you have earned it.

Esau: Oh, thank you sir, I would love to learn.

Sir Mac Mire: Let's walk over to the control panel and I will show you the gears.

( voice fades)

Narrator: A few days later, Esau arrives at work to find that Sir Mac Mire is ill.

(Esau walks onto the boat and hears a conversation concerning the boat and Sir Mac Mire)

Esau: What's going on? What's all the commotion about?

(John walks over to Esau)

John: Esau, sir MacMire fell ill, and there is no one to run the boat.

Esau: I can run the boat. Sir Mac Mire taught me.

Carl: Hey ya'll. This nigga thinks he can run the boat.

John: Carl, if Sir Mac Mire is ill and you can't run the boat, then there is no reason Esau can't try.

Carl: Okay boy, if you think that you can run this here boat, show me what you know.

Narrator: Esau walked over to the control panel and began to drive the boat. Carl and the other crew members were surprised to see how well he managed the boat. Esau controlled the boat until Sir Mac Mire was able to work again. One day, Sir Mac Mire sent Esau to the market to deliver some potatoes.
