History

R. B. Stall High School was built in 1962 and dedicated on March 25, 1963. It was named for Mr. Robert Barnwell Stall, a long-time member and Chairman of the Cooper River School District.

Stall was opened to students during the 1962-1963 school year and included grades 8, 9, and 10 with an enrollment of 483 students. Stall continued to grow the next two years adding both an 11th and 12th grade. The first graduating class was the Class of 1965. Stall grew even larger as the years passed until the school population was about 1700 students. 1974 was the last year that 8th graders were housed at Stall. The next year 8th graders were moved to Alice Birney Middle School (located next door to Stall).

During the 1983 school year the football stadium was completed providing the Warriors with their own home field for the first time. In 1984 a new wing was added to Stall, almost doubling its size.

Many graduates have gone on to become highly regarded leaders within the North Charleston community and throughout the country. Stall continues to grow and prosper with the help of the surrounding community and its alumni.
