CCSD Lead Story - August 15, 2011
This weekend, at events held all across the county, final preparations were made for a successful beginning to the 2011-2012 school year. At Burke High School, Dr. McGinley joined Hootie and the Blowfish, the Community Education Office, and CCSD parents, students and staff for the annual "Hootie's Homegrown Roundup." Students received school supplies and other resources generously provided by Hootie and the Blowfish.
On Sunday, CCSD staff joined partners from the City of Charleston and other agencies at the "First Day Festival." Thousands of families received Back to School tips, resources and information. The first day of school is tomorrow--Tuesday, August 16--and parents can call CCSD's Help Line at 937-6366 from 7:00AM to 5:00PM from now until Wednesday with any Back to School questions. Thanks to our parents and community partners for pitching in for a successful first day of school and 2011-2012 school year--we'll see you all in school bright and early tomorrow morning!
