What is the Employee Wellness Initiative?
Charleston County School District (CCSD) has joined local health and community partners to officially launch a district-wide program —the Employee Wellness Initiative—designed to promote the health and well-being of employees.
The Wellness Initiative ensures that every school has an active School Wellness Committee that develops school-based activities and partnerships to enhance the wellness of everyone.
Recognizing that wellness is not a “one-size-fits-all” proposition, School Wellness Committees will be individualized based on each school’s needs. Wellness Committees will address five key areas: Physical Well-Being, Social-Emotional Well-Being, Establishing a Wellness Culture, Family-Friendly Policies, and Employee Connections. The Wellness Initiative will build on best practices and strengthen collaborations between the district, its schools, and local health partners.
