OVERVIEW: As a Communications themed school, Chicora provides students with skills and practice in subjects related to the communications industry in addition to the CCSD coherent curriculum. The mission of the school is to provide opportunities to develop writing skills, public speaking and awareness of self through an integrated communications theme.

EXTRACURRICULAR OFFERINGS: Chicora prides itself on our successful parenting programs which include Adult Computer Classes, MotherRead program, and Parents Participating for Progress. We also offer After-School Tutoring programs and Special Interest Clubs for our students. During the school day, Chicora has a performing Dance Team and Chorus.
SPECIAL INCENTIVES: An Awards Assembly is held every nine weeks where those students excelling in academics or citizenship are recognized with an Exceptional Eagle Award, or Terrific Kids. A school-wide reading campaign is held and children who reach their goal are rewarded with an invitation to the Spring Reading Carnival.
