About Durham Bus Services
Durham Bus Services provides bus transportation to students living within the
school attendance zone, but outside the 1.5-mile walk zone or who live in areas
predetermined to be hazardous for walk-in students.
To provide more
localized service for the 1,000 square mile area covered by approximately 186 regular routes, 80 magnet, 69 special needs routes, 36 No Child Left Behind
routes, and 8 charter routes, Durham Bus Services has three area offices.
Eight driver/bus locations in the county are utilized to provide efficient and convenient sites for drivers to check-in and pick-up their buses to begin routes. These locations are McClellanville, Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, Ladson, James Island, Johns Island and Baptist Hill/Edisto.
