Information Technology
Charleston County Schools provides students and teachers with a wide variety of technology for learning and teaching. Students have access to well equipped computer labs, carefully selected instructional software, e-mail, filtered internet access, and many other technology tools. Many schools are fully covered by wireless network access. And Charleston County has one of the best ratios of computers for students in the state.
Teachers can post course information and homework assignments on school web sites, use in-class streaming video resources, and access a broad range of instructional software.
The District is constantly upgrading the technology in its schools, and has adopted forward looking technology standards for its building program to ensure schools can prepare students for advances in technology.
The Master Technology Plan is reviewed annually to ensure alignment with the district's strategic plan and coherent curriculum.
