Health Services: CCSD Parent Information for Medications and Medical Procedures
Welcome to the Health Services page of Charleston County School District (CCSD).
The Department of Nursing Services recognizes the link of student’s health and well being to academic success. The mission of school nursing services is to create a positive impact on educational outcomes by:
- Promoting a safe environment and healthy lifestyle.
- Providing direct services to meet healthcare needs and identify/take steps to correct heath problems that can affect learning.
- Participating in educational opportunities for self and implementing health related trainings for staff and students.
The district is genuinely concerned with the health and welfare of your child. Because of this concern, CCSD has established a policy identifying procedures for the safe administration of medications and or medical procedures performed during school hours, at any school-sponsored activity, in transit to and from school-sponsored activities, and during, before, or after school activities on school property and on school-sponsored field trips.
