Career and Technology Education

The mission of Career and Technology Education (CTE) is to provide students the opportunity to acquire career competencies for the workplace and a foundation for career development through higher education. CTE is dedicated to helping all students realize their career objectives and achieve an optimum level of proficiency consistent with their interests, aptitudes, desires, and abilities.

2006 CCSD graduates of CTE programs:

• 81% are continuing their education at a two or four year post secondary institute
• 13% are employeed
• 4% have entered the military
• 98% success

Each year over 5000 students enroll in Career and Technology Education in Charleston County School District.
