Board of Trustees Member Biography

Mr. Chris Fraser

Chris Fraser is a 30 year resident of the Charleston area. He was stationed here with the US Navy in the late 1970's serving primarily aboard the USS Henry Clay, a nuclear submarine. Chris and his family currently reside on James Island.

As cofounder of Grubb&Ellis|Barkley Fraser, he serves as President and Managing Principal, and focuses primarily on large scale land projects and development. He has held his broker’s license since 1985 and his CCIM designation since 1989.

Community and Professional:

Immediate Past Chairman of the SC State Housing and Finance Authority, Past President of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, member of the National Association of Realtors, member of the South Carolina Association of Realtors, former delegate to The White House Conference on Small Business, Past Chairman of the board of directors of the Education Foundation, board and Executive Committee member of The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Grubb & Ellis President’s Council.

Chris has served in a variety of roles associated with education including as a member of the District Two Constituent Board, has tutored, acted as Principal for a Day in area schools throughout the district, and served for four years on The Education Foundation Board of Directors, with a two year term as its Chairman.
