Head Start Programs

What are CCSD's Head Start Programs?

Head Start programs were established to provide early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services on a year-round basis.

The purpose of the program is to:

  • Enhance children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development
  • To support parents’ efforts to fulfill their parental roles
  • To help parents move toward self-sufficiency

How to Apply

  • please visit your closest center. Please bring the following:
    • Proof of income (the total money earned or received before deductions of the family of the child) for the past twelve months,
    • The child’s legal birth certificate,
    • Proof of Residency,
    • South Carolina Immunization Certificate,
    • Medicaid Card or Private Insurance (if applicable), and
    • Current Physical and Dental Exam.
