West Ashley High School Senior Dashes into Victory

West Ashley High School senior, Darrell Singleton worked his way to the top, by beating his personal record in the 100-meter dash at the Taco Bell Track and Field Classic. After running a 10.48 at the evernt, Singleton is now ranked third in the nation.

Congratulations to Buist Academy for thirty years of service. The school celebrated the milestone this month with an event featuring community leaders, school officials, former students, and Mayor John Tecklenburg.

Sullivan's Island Coastal Environment Teacher to Receive STEM Award

Holly Blair, the coastal environment teacher at Sullivan’s Island Elementary School, will be recognized next month for her dedication to educating future generations of environmental stewards. She will join five other teachers from across South Carolina in receiving the InterTech Group Award for Excellence in STEM Education.

Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performs at Two CCSD Schools

CCSD is one of only five school districts nationwide selected this year to receive free educational concerts and workshops from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. They performed for students at Charleston County School of the Arts and Burke High School.
